Kelly faces years in jail for sex trafficking

R&B singer R Kelly is facing life in prison for orchestrating a complex scheme to entice and sexually exploit young aspiring singers and underage children.

Following his conviction, the former 90s superstar was labeled a "predator" that used his fame and fortune to "prey on the young, the vulnerable, and the voiceless for his own sexual gratification."

In September of last year, a jury found him guilty on multiple counts of racketeering, including bribery and forced labor.

Following a six-week trial, the singer, who denied all charges, was found guilty on all nine counts.

Kelly, 55, was also found in violation of the Mann Act, which prohibits sex trafficking.

His conviction carries a minimum sentence of ten years in prison, but he could face life in prison for his crimes.
