Missing N9 Billion: PDP NWC Questions National Chairman

The Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, Mr. Ayu Iyorchia, seems to have gotten himself into another trouble as the party's NWC question's him over missing N9 Billion. The calls for his resignation has gotten another momentum.

The Nation reports that members of the party's National Working Committee (NWC), has raised an alarm over the sudden disappearances of the sum of N10 billion in the coffers of the party to N1 billion.

The funds were said to have been generated after purchasing nomination forms before the party's primaries nation wide.

It was gathered that each member of the NWC was promised a sum of N28 million naira to overlook the disappearance of the funds, the offer was turned down by officials who wants accountability and transparency in the party.

A top source who pleaded to remain anonymous said, this new development is beginning to give strength to the calls for Ayu's resignation or sack, something that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and his team have proposed.

Don't De-Register ASUU — Nigerian Labour Congress Kicks

The Nigerian Labour Congress has register their displeasure over the witch-hunt against the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) by the Nigerian government over non submission of its report for the last five years. ASUU dismissed the claims and said its audited financial returns for the last five years were submitted to the Registrar of Trade Unions as required by the law, prompting NLC to act fast saying the union had submitted its financial report up till 2021. The President of Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba, has submitted a copy of letters to the Registrar of Trade Unions and to the Minister of Labour and Employment, warning against moves to de-register or withdraw ASUU's registration license.
